The State of Qatar won six awards at the conclusion of the 20th session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which was held in Tunis from June 27 to 30, 2019.
Qatar won two awards in the radio competitions: the first prize in the comedy drama, and the first prize in the radio documentary contest. Qatar also won two gold medals for two programs produced by Qatar Radio, in the framework of exchange with Arab radio stations.
Qatar Television, meanwhile, won the second prize in the Children's programs category for the animated series "Tammour and Tammoura", an awareness work directed to children and adolescents, produced by the Cultural Village "Katara".
The State of Qatar also won the second prize in the public documentary category, with a program produced by Alrayyan TV Channel, jointly with a program produced by the Arabic section of China Global Television Network.
Over 140 works participated in the radio competitions from 30 public broadcasting organizations and 16 private radio organizations. The main radio competition included programs and radio news in drama competition, scientific programs, children's programs, radio documentary on the Palestinian cause, public awareness flashes.
The competition for Arab private radio stations, Arabic-speaking international stations, production companies and Arab news agencies included talk shows, public awareness flashes, news briefs, radio news, program introductions and endings.
As for the main television competitions, they included the television drama television programs, represented in the documentary on the Palestinian cause, the public documentary program, entertainment programs, children's programs, as well as the main TV news (news report and talk show).
