Qatar Stock exchange gains 296.90 points this week

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 296.90 points (+3.09 percent) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 9,918.60 points. Trading value during this week increased by 100.46 percent to reach QR 851,683,287.02 compared to QR 424,869,522.31.

Trading volume increased by 210.05 percent to reach 324,293,941 shares, as against 104,592,392 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 90.46 percent, to reach 31,220 transactions as compared to 16,392 transactions. Market capitalization rose by 3.62 percent to reach QR 548,593,878,911.16 as compared to QR 529,413,378,381.99 at the end of previous week.

Banking and financial services sector led traded value this week with 47.61 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 23.31 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 9.01 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 6.92 percent.

The industrial sector led trading volume during this week with 34.02 percent of the total trading volume. Banks and Financial Services sector accounted 27.12 percent. The Real Estate sector accounting 19.38 percent, and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 22.6 percent.

Industries sector led traded number of transactions this week with 38.17 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted 27.22 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 10.53 percent and Telecom sector accounted 9.63 percent.

From the 46 listed companies 29 ended this week higher, while 14 fell and three unchanged. QNB led trading value during this week accounted for 26.31 percent of the total trading value. Industries Qatar accounted for 7.50 percent and the Qatar Islamic Bank accounted 7.38 percent.
