Ideation - Small

Program:

The Qatar SportsTech (QST) Hackathon presents a unique opportunity for the entrepreneurial minds of Doha to get together and build the future of sports from the ground-up. Over the course of 48 intense hours, the 50 participants will go through all the initial stages of forming a company with the assistance of mentors on-site.

Qatar SportsTech is founded by Qatar Development Bank and partnered with BeIN Media Group, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Aspire Zone Foundation, Qatar Financial Centre, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, the Hackathon is sponsored by Alfardan Group and supported by ecosystem leaders such as Campus & Student Life Qatar, TASMU, Workinton, QBIC Fab Lab, Qatar Living, and I Love Qatar.

The hackathon kicks off Thursday, September 26 at Workinton - Alfardan Centre. The event starts with an ideation session structured around QST’s own customized and innovative ideation board game. Aside from breaking the ice between strangers, the game allows for the participants to rapidly launch their own ideas. Teams will holistically form around the most popular ideas and the teams will start building their concept.

The sleepless 48 hours consists of food, coffee, Red Bull, and plenty of networking. With a FabLab on-site, ideas will be prototyped and validated.

The event concludes with a pitch session in front of the judging jury.

“With the World Cup at our doorstep, we want to empower entrepreneurial students and professionals alike to put their ideas into practice and find solutions for the growing industry. Hackathons are great platforms for innovation. With hard work and a bit of luck, what might start small over a weekend can grow into the next big thing impacting the sports sector. We also would love to welcome homegrown initiatives into our upcoming accelerator,”

Koen Bosma, Managing Director of Qatar SportsTech.
