In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, a time to bring the community closer together, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), the company overseeing the construction of the Qatar's integrated railway network, is launching its Ramadan 2015 initiative, voicing appreciation for its workers’ role in supporting the Qatar Rail's vision.

Dedicated to over 24,000 laborers, Qatar Rail’s initiative “This Ramadan: a simple thank you” is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program. The initiative will Involve Qatar Rail officials visiting Doha Metro sites this Ramadan joining workers for iftar, sharing a pleasant atmosphere and listening to their needs.

Involving both management teams and employees, the scheduled weekly visits to accommodation sites aims to bring Qatar Rail’s staff closer together, ensuring everyone understands their role in securing the company’s progress.

Commenting on the initiative, Qatar Rail’s CEO, Eng. Saad Al Muhannadi, said: “Qatar Rail is fully aware that the implementation of its projects is thanks to the efforts of a large number of foreign workers who help us to achieve our goals. As we strongly believe in the principle of social solidarity and the importance of the virtue of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan, we are happy to confirm Qatar Rail's permanent readiness to extend a helping hand to its workers; our long-term partners whose daily contribution is making the railway mission possible”.

Besides the accommodation sites activity, Qatar Rail will be also launching the 3^rd edition of Qatar Rail Football League (QRFL). The tournament is gathering 18 teams consisting of Qatar Rail’s management, employees, contractors and partners. Workers are invited to attend the football matches and experience a great time with friends filled with cheer and prizes. The tournament seeks to celebrate the month of goodness and giving with promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity among Qatar Rail’s family.

Qatar Rail continuously seeks ways to give back to its workers to improve their welfare. The company has adopted the custom of holding yearly activities during the month of Ramadan, as the occasion constitutes an opportunity to meet outside working hours and exchange views.
