Qatar Petroleum announced that it has changed its name to QatarEnergy, as per a report by The Peninsula newspaper on Monday, 11 October 2021. In an email from the corporate communications, the company made this announcement of the new brand identity.

"Qatar Petroleum is now QatarEnergy"— a statement mailed to the employees of the company. The employees were the first to hear of this change that also included a new slogan 'Your Energy Transition Partner'.

In a press conference, the Minister of State for Energy H.E. Saad Sherida Al Kaabi revealed the brand name and the logo. He further added that this change reflects a new strategy that will focus on energy efficiency and environment-friendly technology such as CO2 sequestration.

H.E. Kaabi further said that a team was put together to see if there is a requirement to change the name of the company and accordingly it was decided to change it.

The official Twitter handle of the company was also changed to QatarEnergy @qatar_energy.
