Qatar airways airline of the year 2022

Qatar Airways has been awarded the title of Airline of the Year 2022 by, a website specializing in airline assessment and evaluation.

The award highlights Qatar Airways' innovation, product, route network, safety and industry leadership. Another achievement that secured this award for Qatar Airways is the airline's commitment to keeping the air routes open during COVID-19 over the recent years, resulting in the airline's record profit.

Qatar Airways CEO, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker on the award:

“Winning these awards are another ringing endorsement of everything that we stand for as an airline as Qatar Airways is fully committed to providing an unrivaled customer experience. Our goal is to deliver excellence and once again securing the ‘Airline of the Year’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ and ‘Best Business Class’ demonstrates that we continue to lead the industry as passengers return to the skies.” Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas notes that the airline has a host of industry firsts: first to complete IATA’s IOSA safety audit and first to be fully COVID audited and compliant by both AirlineRatings and Skytrax.

Aside from winning Airline of the Year 2022, Qatar Airways also bagged the "Best Airline in the Middle East" for the second year running as well as the "Best Business Class" award for the third year in a row. Mr. Geoffrey Thomas highlights Qatar Airways' Qsuite, describing it as a first-class experience in a business class category.

The Airline Excellence Awards are comprised of a team of global editors with veteran industry experience who use an objective value-based methodology to evaluate airlines based on safety, product ratings, passenger reviews, fleet age, profitability and environmental commitment.
