The 16th edition of Project Qatar, the nation’s largest and most prominent construction exhibition, poised to be the broadest and most inclusive to date, is to be held from 29 April – 1 May 2019 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). This year’s mega event was announced by the organizers at a press conference today at Intercontinental Doha - The City, attended by partners, sponsors, international diplomats, and VIP guests.
Held under the Patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the three-day exhibition and conference is Qatar’s longest running construction event and international trade fair that specializes in construction and all related industries.
The 2019 event is set to be the most diverse and comprehensive edition. Organized by International Fairs and Promotions (IFP) Qatar, the exhibition will feature more than 500 of the most recognized international and local brands and companies from 34 different countries.
The future focus of this year’s event will highlight innovation in the construction sector, and one of the exhibition’s dedicated product zones is ‘Smart District’, dedicated to Qatar’s Smart Nation Program. The Smart District is a platform for smart technology providers, urban planners, innovators and other industry specialists to explore the requirements for Qatar’s digitized cities and connect with local stakeholders while showing the cutting-edge innovations implemented in building, energy, and transportation.
‘The Future of Construction in Qatar’ is the theme of Project Qatar Conference 2019, which returns for the second year. The conference is certified by CPD, and the first day will feature keynote addresses by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, Youssef Abdul Rahman Al Emadi,
Projects Affairs Director at the Public Works Authority (Ashghal)’, and Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al Thani, Managing Director, Business Development at the Qatar Financial Centre, among other officials.
To support the continuous development of professionals in the construction field in Qatar, a series of trainings and workshops certified by CPD London, IMA, and ASTM International, is offered by Project Qatar this year free of charge. The sessions will be taking place during the exhibition, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM daily.
Project Qatar will present 15 official national pavilions from Algeria, Austria, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom, where brands and companies from the same national markets can jointly introduce their services and products to the Qatari market. In total, brands and companies from 34 countries will take part in the exhibition.
International companies account for 70 percent of participating firms, a rate only matched at global exhibitions. China leads Asian countries with 90 participating firms while Italy comes first among European countries with 20 companies.

More than 500 exhibitors from 34 countries including 350 international companies, more than 20,000 expected visitors, 25,000 square meters of exclusive showrooms featuring the latest and finest products and services, as well as accompanying events to cover the wider needs of the sector, and other features are elements that will make Project Qatar 2019 the premier business event in Qatar and the region.
