Patchi has got to be one of Qatar’s favorite chocolate brands. It’s just perfect for a gift to bring to a dinner party, to the airport picking up a friend, to a birthday, for a get-well-soon present, or to have sitting on your couch table for a sneaky taste. The rich chocolate is almost never wrong. But do you know all the facts about your beloved little pieces of chocolate? Here is all you need to know about Patchi chocolate!

Patchi is a creation by Nizar Choucair, with over 140 branches in 29 countries. The first store ever opened in 1074 in Lebanon, home to Nizar Chouzair. Chouzair followed his passion and dream ever since he was 11 years old. Pursuing the idea to make chocolate even more special and spend more attention to detail , turning them into unique gift items, Chouzair did not stop with his first store but began to expand throughout the whole world. He is now chairman of the delicious brand.

The focus of the Patchi Philosophy is not hard to guess! It’s gift giving and generosity. If you buy a box of Patchi, it surely is intended to be a present, or at least to be shared! Choucair’s intention was to share the act of giving and receiving, making this world a warmer place. This is why HEARTMADE is their slogan, because Patchi is heartmade!

More importantly, our favorite chocolate is hand-made, completed with hand-made flowers, packaging and decoration. The attention to detail resembles that of haute-couture with colors and textures that change with the seasons.

While Patchi used to specialize in wedding souvenirs, today one of the biggest holidays for Patchi is Ramadan with Eid. It has become widely popular across the Middle East, being the leading chocolate brand in the Middle East, winner of ISO 2000 – 1991 year award for quality management. According to Euromonitor International, the chocolate confectionery market will reach $292-4 million in 2017 un the UAE alone. In Dubai stands one of Patchi’s five factories, carefully producing chocolate from the chocolate fountain to the packaging.

How many flavors can a chocolate have? Patchi comes in over 83 flavors including, almond, cheesecake, halawa, gianduja, orange peel, pistachios, dried strawberry, peanut butter and cotton candy. These are produced at an expected 10,000kg per day in one factory. This super-sweet success reaches as far as the United Kingdom, where Patchi collaborated with Harrod’s to produce the most expensive box of chocolates, costing £5,000. This box of chocolates is wrapped in leather and hand-made silk from India and China, containing chocolates from finest organically grown cocoa decorated with gold and Swarowski flower and hand made silk rose. The individually wrapped chocolates are separated with gold and platinum linings.

While this box of Patchi chocolates is far more than I am willing to spend on chocolate, we can get the original Patchi chocolate in many branches in Doha, including Villaggio, Al-Sadd, Al-Wakra and City Center. And do they taste flawless! We can’t get enough of Patchi, can you? Which chocolate is your favorite?
