This week, we're featuring Mersal App, a modern Flowers and Chocolates delivery mobile app that allows users to choose between Flowers, Chocolates and Sweets shops across Qatar, manage their requests, customize it and deliver the right choices to their doorstep.

The Mersal App makes gift-giving and celebrating moments, easier, accessible and user-centric by seamlessly connecting users to flower and chocolate shops around Qatar. Their vision is "to create joyful moments by enabling people to show how much they care about each other."

The app is currently in its soft launch and will be holding a grand launch soon!

How does Mersal work?

Available for download on iOS and Android, users can explore a wide range of flowers and chocolate shops across Qatar for different occasions and a variety of prices. Users can request same-day delivery service, self-pickup option, or schedule the delivery in advance.

What's in a name?

We asked them how did they come up with the brand name and we learned that Mersal in Arabic means the messenger of your message.

We, as a team, came up with this phrase to reflect our primary mission and mission of the company. Our vision is to create joyful moments by enabling people to show how much they care about each other. We help people communicate their feelings and love. - Mersal team

The story behind the brand

The application has been launched for 3 months now. What motivated the founders to start Mersal was the lack of Qatari companies specialized in flowers and confections delivery services in the country, together with the needs of the market and faith of growing bigger with this idea. Mersal's founders are Abdulwahab Abdulwahab, Osama Murtaja, and Ahmed Alkahlout.

"We’ve studied the idea for a long time, there is a big potential in this sector in the Qatari market, digitalizing it is not easy but we trust our passion," the founders added.

We asked the Mersal team to tell us more about Mersal and what are their unique offerings. They said Mersal App's main competitive advantages are:

Flower customization experience for users to make their own flower arrangement.
Subscription option to a monthly gorgeous flower arrangement that elevates users' homes with elegant bouquets and lovely additions.
Users can submit their event setup request to create the appropriate yet graceful ambience playing with different flowers and chocolates to suit and elevate the significance of their occasion.
Smart reminder mechanism so users won’t be missing any important occasions by saving their dates on the app's internal calendar to be notified in advance.
Mersal's User Experience helps the customer to send gifts even if they don’t know the exact location of the receiver.
Mersal enables the local flower shops to reach out to a vast segment of online customers and get helpful analytics on their customers.

The team also said that they're proud and happy to be the first local specialized floral and chocolate delivery app in Qatar.

Positive customers' response

According to the Mersal team, the response from the customers so far is surprising and pushing forward growing their business more. "We believe in numbers and seeing our users growing day by day is an achievement for us, we also appreciate all the positive feedback we hear which motivates us to keep developing and serve our customers what they deserve," the team added.

On startups and business

Digital Incubation Center (DIC) played an important part in establishing Mersal as a startup. DIC helped them solve some of the problems commonly associated with running a startup by providing workspace, mentoring, and training.

Reaching more than 3000+ users in a very short period and with limited marketing campaigns.
Building great trust and strong vendor relationships.
