The Ooredoo Village, an integral part of the company’s celebrations for Qatar National Day, received exceptional support with over 70,000 people from across Qatar visiting the event and taking part in the activities.
The exhibition, which was held in the Cultural Village at Katara Corniche, was part of the Katara National Day Events sponsored by Ooredoo.
The Ooredoo Village was open from 18-19 December and included a host of activities for all ages such as demonstrations, traditional music (al arda), live cooking, technology, and section for crafts.
As an educational point for children and expats, the company exhibited a host of different traditional swords and various traditional items including a ‘dala’ (traditional coffee pot) to showcase the strong historic background of Qatar
To entertain families Ooredoo created an immersive desert experience with free Camel rides and falcon handling, as well as a Qatari Majlis serving various drinks such as Arabic Coffee, Kahwa, and tea.
In order to highlight the contribution of Ooredoo towards the growth of Qatar’s economy, the event also included an exhibition including all of the company’s SIM cards produced from the first day of operations, as well old models of telephones.
Ooredoo also held an art display during the event which invited famous artists within Qatar to create a piece that captures the company.
The Ooredoo Village was launched as part of the #WeAreAllQatar campaign which included an inspirational song and video for Qatar National Day, and free local calling for all Hala and Shahry Smart customers.
