Ooredoo today celebrated the first anniversary of the launch of the Ooredoo Advanced Smart Innovative Solutions (OASIS) Lab in Doha, which has been accessed by more than 200 businesses in Qatar since opening day.

The OASIS Lab was opened in 2014 to give companies in Qatar an opportunity to review and trial key “Smart” Services on Ooredoo’s bigger, faster network. Organisations from across a range of industries are looking to deploy digital services to enhance performance and improve productivity, as the country strives to become one of the best-connected nations in the world.

In developing the OASIS laboratory, Ooredoo leveraged its long-standing relationships with many of the world’s leading technology companies to bring in the latest examples of next generation smart solutions.

Speaking on the occasion of the anniversary, Sheikh Nasser Hamad Nasser Al-Thani, Chief New Business Officer, Ooredoo, commented: “The OASIS Lab was designed to create a space for businesses across Qatar to come and test ground-breaking technology on the biggest, fastest network. This milestone demonstrates not only Ooredoo’s leadership in business services and technology, but also our dedication to ensuring that Qatar companies can remain at the cutting-edge of development.”

The OASIS lab was a breakthrough achievement for the Smart Living sector in Qatar, leveraging the power, speed and reach of Ooredoo’s core networking technologies.

Since the lab’s launch, the space has hosted several business events and invited SMEs and corporations across the country to visit the facility.
