Ooredoo’s Managed Storage and Back-Up services have had a successful past year, with a host of upgrades and service launches, due to response from companies who are looking to manage the ever-expanding volume of customer and business data.

In 2006, Ooredoo launched the Managed Backup service, which provides periodic backups to ensure data longevity, and in 2012, Ooredoo made the switch to its first wholly-owned Managed Storage service, which enables customers to store, archive and manage their companies’ data within the Qatar Data Centre infrastructure.

Since then a range of new services have been developed to meet the new capacity, building upon and using Ooredoo’s expertise and strong range of network and data centre assets.

Yousuf Al-Kubaisi, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “In 2015, we launched our first fully Ooredoo-operated managed services, including Managed Storage and Backup services fully integrated with our Disaster Recovery capabilities, and we invested heavily to make sure our Data Centres continue to be among the most advanced in the world. Ooredoo empowers some of Qatar’s biggest enterprises to remotely manage their data, and we have been successful in extending the same level of service to Qatar’s small and medium businesses. This trend will continue in 2016.”

Ooredoo has been a pioneer in introducing the latest Managed Services to Qatar, working with leading technology companies to offer a host of innovative solutions.

With Ooredoo’s Managed Storage services, companies benefit from flexible consumption models and cost structures, as well as flexible pricing and service performance tiers.

In addition, companies benefit from centralised data storage for building private clouds, constant monitoring and automated backup and restore features, which are all fully integrated with the Ooredoo Data Centre’s Disaster Recovery capabilities to protect the continuity of the customer data.
