Novo Cinemas has announced the opening date of a boutique cinema destination in the heart of Doha at Souq Waqif.

Souq Waqif is a unique marketplace in Doha, noted for selling traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. The Souq dates back over a hundred years and was renovated in 2006 to preserve its traditional Qatari architectural style. A neighborhood gem serving as a reminder to Qatari culture in Doha, the area is a popular destination for local, expats and international tourists alike with multiple dining options.

Opening on the first day of Eid al Fitr 2018, the state-of-the-art five screen cinema set in a historical location, features all the leading entertainment Novo is famous for and will offer four standard theatres and one VIP 7-Star screen.

The addition of Souq Waqif will increase Novo Cinemas’ footprint in Qatar to five cinemas in the country, including Msheireb Downtown Doha.
