Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha along with Mövenpick Hotel Doha is observing the United Nations International Day of Charity on 5 September by launching a weeklong campaign to support a local charity, Hope Qatar.

The hotel is inviting guests to donate school supplies for the charity and as a small gesture of appreciation; the hotel will give one complimentary ice cream in return.

The charity event, dubbed ‘A Kilo of Kindness for a Treat of Ice Cream’, will take place from 5 to 12 September, with the two Mövenpick Hotels are among the more than 15 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East and Asia region taking part.

“This endeavour is part and parcel of our greater vision of becoming a responsible partner in the development of our community,” said spokesperson. “We have chosen Hope Qatar to support their ongoing work helping special needs children improve their quality of education and social skills.”

Donation boxes for Hope Qatar are located in L’Espresso Café in the lobby of Mövenpick Hotel Doha and at the lobby area at Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha for the full week of 5 – 12 September.

The ‘Kilo of Kindness’ initiative is part of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ global sustainability program Shine, which aims to give back to the communities where the company operates properties. Shine focuses on three pillars - Environment, Employer and Sustainability - with Education the most important thread, common to each.
