The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) yesterday signed an agreement with Japan’s Mitsui Corporation to adopt a social development programme.
The initiative aims at rehabilitation of agricultural research stations at Rawdat Al Faras and Al Uturiyah and transfer of technology there.
The agreement is part of the MME’s plan to develop and advance the country’s agriculture sector and as implementation of the instructions of HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi to adopt the best technological solutions in enhancing food security and encouraging co-operation with the country’s partners in
development.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser al-Thani, MME assistant undersecretary, and Ken Yamamura, deputy general manager of Mitsui Corporation, in the presence of Japan’s ambassador to Qatar Shingo Tsuda and several MME officials. (Source)
