DOHA | Through an initiative of Sheikh Hassan Bin Nasser Al-Thani of HBN Group, Miswak Royale has reinvented the ancient Arabian tradition of miswak by launching the world’s first ever luxury Miswak.
The miswak is a traditional Arabian toothbrush which is commonly made from root of the Peelu tree and has held an esteemed status in Arabian culture for thousands of years due to its medicinal benefits - such as its exceptional ability to whiten the teeth.
In recent times, however, the miswak has lost some of its prominence due to the rapid modernization of the Arab world. As Arabs begin to adopt more modern customs, many have abandoned the tradition of miswak and this is what Miswak Royale aims to change.
“As Qatar develops and modernizes, it is important that we hold on to our roots and our culture,” Miswak Royale chairman Sheikh Hassan Bin Nasser Al-Thani said.
“Initiatives such as this are important because they remind us of who we are and where we came from as a nation.” Sheikh Hassan Al-Thani added.
Miswak Royale’s new and reinvented version of the miswak is made from the olive tree which gives it unique properties which the luxury community will be proud to use such as its pleasant aromatic smell and sweet taste. The olive tree was especially chosen because it holds a special place in Arab culture as being a blessed tree.
Although the new miswak promises to be a great gift item for special occasions such as weddings, corporate events, and Islamic celebrations, it is also a way for many Arabs to keep in touch with their roots and rich culture.
Sheikh Hassan Al-Thani further explained that HBN Group and Miswak Royale strongly align themselves with Qatar National Vision 2030 in its aim for the modernization and preservation of traditions.
Although Miswak Royale does not plan to be in stores until the beginning of next year, the luxury miswak can be purchased online on their website www.miswakroyale.com.
Miswak Royale will also be featured in the auspicious Lbrthh Exhibition happening from 7th – 12th December at Al-Thakira as well as the Qatar National Day Exhibition in Hayat Plaza from 12th – 18th of December.
