The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs announced the provision of shops for "home-based business" at the "Community Markets" project in The Pearl.

The Ministry revealed the near completion of the project that serves "home-based business" in The Pearl City. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the United Development Company.

The "Community Markets" project aims to provide free multiple outlets for home-based businesses. It includes (29) shops for selling sweets, traditional foods, traditional clothes, abayas, perfumes, restaurants, etc. In addition, the project includes a social development center to train families on handicrafts and on the best practices to enable and encourage them to establish their own companies, thus contributing to enhancing the economic and social development and prosperity of the State of Qatar.

Selecting the beneficiaries of the project will be through a lottery, which will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, the Endowments Department of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the United Development Company.

The Ministry will reveal all project details, registration and selection mechanism, as well as controls for the use of the designated stores in the coming weeks.

Through this project, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs seeks to develop an integrated system of services and support to promote the economic activities carried out by home-based businesses, through community markets that serve as an incubator to support home-based businesses.
