Six Radisson Blu hotels have achieved the internationally recognised Safehotels certification, it was announced today. The properties, located in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Egypt, mark the inauguration of a worldwide roll out of certifications within the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, who operate the Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson hotels around the world.

In December 2014, the group signed an agreement with Safehotels – a globally recognised security consultancy. The agreement made Carlson Rezidor the first major international hotel group using the acclaimed independent certification programme to benefit guests, employees and owners.

Of the certified properties in the Middle East region, the Radisson Blu Dubai Marina property is notable for being the first residence to achieve this accreditation.

“This is a remarkable achievement, and one that we are very proud of because the Radisson Blu Residence, Dubai Marina, is the first residence to receive the Safehotels Alliance Certification. The health, safety and security of our guests is, of course, paramount to Rezidor’s 'Yes I Can' service philosophy. We hope that this encourages our peers to implement global best practice in this discipline,” said Rob Collier, General Manager at the Radisson Blu Residence, Dubai Marina.

“Safehotels certification confirms that the hotel focuses on key elements of guest security relating to personal property and has appropriate response plans if ever there is an accident or any kind of emergency. The certificate shows the hotel is sincere in its guest’s personal well-being. Being independently audited and certified yearly by Safehotels strengthen the value of that communication immensely. The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has taken the already high level of internal precautions one step further by signing with Safehotels”, says Hans Kanold, CEO for Safehotels Alliance AB.

In 2015, over 70 selected Rezidor hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa will undergo the Safehotels certification process. Over the next few months, properties in Bahrain and Kuwait are set to be audited.
