McDonald’s Qatar sponsors the first “World Smile Day” in Qatar

To further highlight their commitment to the local community, McDonald’s Qatar has sponsored the first “World Smile Day” event in Qatar, which was organized by Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRN) and held at SFQ (Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassem) Sports Academy. The event was attended by the children from QRSN and their families, in addition to the center’s delegates and McDonald’s Qatar staff.

Being the “Golden Sponsor” for this special event, and aiming to drive happiness and pleasure to the children, McDonald’s Qatar surprised the kids with variety of activities and games, in addition to face painting and branded balloons. Hamburglar the famous character greeted each child and gave them happy meal and a gift.

Mr. Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co., the owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Qatar said: “Giving back to the community has always been a key mission and part of our heritage. In Qatar, we are proud to be part of the communities we serve, and community involvement has always been a part of our culture. This sponsorship is a solid statement that McDonald’s Qatar is committed not only to offer fresh foods to the community but to show them our love and affection”.

The event engraved a smile on all the faces and turn out to be truly a remarkable one for everybody sharing the fun and laughter.

It is worth mentioning that World Smile Day is celebrated around the world every first Friday of October. Its founder Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963 and soon launched the World Smile Day in 1999.
