Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha received ten awards, one of which being for the Best Resort Hotel in the GCC for the second year in a row, competing among three other prestigious hotels at the Food & Travel 2017 GCC Awards. The ceremony was held in Dubai on 27 March 2017, bringing many major industry professionals together to acknowledge the GCC’s hospitality industry. Doha’s premier destination continues to win international praise for its palatial luxury, quality of service and culinary artistry.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski has prided itself in not just being a culinary destination, but an iconic landmark within Qatar. Following this, Marsa Malaz Kempinski proudly accepted a number of culinary and recreational awards, with Nozomi been selected as the Best Contemporary Asian Restaurant, Antica Pesa as the Best Italian Restaurant and Toro Toro as Best Americas all within the GCC.

Within Qatar, Café Murano was awarded for Best Afternoon Tea as well as Best All Day Casual, while Al Sufra was selected for the Best Middle Eastern for the second year running. Antica Pesa was awarded for Best Casual Chic within Qatar and Illusion was selected as the Best on the Town following its first year anniversary. Rounding up the awards for Marsa Malaz Kempinski within Qatar, its very own Spa by Clarins was selected as the Best Spa. All the awards are significant achievements, considering the hotel as a culinary destination and that a number of awards were given within their categories two years in a row.

The Food & Travel Awards are highlighting the excellence of the region’s hotels and restaurants. The initial call for nominations was sent out in February last year, with the winners selected by a team from Food & Travel, along with expert panellists, who also incorporated public opinion by way of over 263,000 votes.

Wissam Suleiman, General Manager of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha, said: "We are honoured to be recognised by such a prestigious publication as the Food & Travel Arabia magazine. Our management team and staff have contributed significantly to the hotel’s accomplishments and we are all very appreciative of the support from our valued guests."
