Following the success of the first wave of the Lean Manufacturing Program (LMP) - the first of its kind in the country - Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) launched the second wave of the program yesterday, featuring a dynamic group of ambitious local entrepreneurs looking learn about the best practices in manufacturing and start their own production facility.

Over of the course of 6 intensive weeks, the industrial entrepreneurs will embark on a journey that covers all aspects of setting-up and operating a manufacturing facility. The program, which is based on the "lean methodology" kicks-off with an introduction to legal compliance and regulations in Qatar, and concludes with the fundamentals of end-to-end supply chain management. The LMP modules, which also include customer validation, product prototyping, marketing and sales strategy, factory design, and machinery mapping, will be delivered in the form of weekly interactive workshops and training sessions.

QBIC General Manager, Hamad Al Qahtani, commented on the launch of the second wave: "At QBIC, we are committed to our responsibility towards developing and supporting entrepreneurs within the local manufacturing sector; by empowering this new wave of industrial innovators, we enable them to transform their ideas into cutting-edge manufacturing facilities and quality products. Through the program, QBIC is able to contribute to the advancement of the manufacturing sector in Qatar, which has witnessed tremendous growth over the past two years."

The LMP is designed to build the capacity of companies and startups that are currently manufacturing or aiming to manufacture products and goods in Qatar. LMP entrepreneurs are trained to develop their ideas alongside invaluable insights provided by local and international experts and partners, as QBIC continues to deliver world-class content that is relevant to the local market.
