Hundreds of people took the opportunity to have free health checks at the Health and Safety campaign stand from Kulluna during the Awareness and Supported Elements Exhibition held at the Doha Exhibition Center recently.

The inaugural fair was held to raise awareness about a range of issues including health, security and culture.

The free health checkups provided by healthcare professionals on the Kulluna stand during the exhibition included tests for blood cholesterol, blood sugar, height, weight, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI).

Kulluna is a national, health and safety, public awareness campaign, founded by Hamad Medical Corporation 's ( HMC ) Hamad International Training Centre (HITC) and Conoco Phillips Qatar was the founding sponsor.

During the last three years, Kulluna has launched several campaigns which have addressed essential health and safety issues within the community. Tens of thousands of people living and working in Qatar have been positively impacted through these campaigns.

The Kulluna stand featured popular “Healthy Heart” checks as well as showcasing child home safety, child car passenger safety and their “Beat the Heat” campaign.

Dr. Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, Director of HITC, said the exhibition was aimed at raising awareness about a range of social issues and Kulluna was pleased to have participated and spread important health and safety messages to a wider audience.

“Spreading awareness about the proactive safety measures people can take is the first step towards bringing the community together to create an accident free environment,” he said adding: “Creating a safe environment whether it be at home, in our workplaces or even where we go to socialize is important. Kulluna has been so successful because we have been able to get across our messages of health and safety in an interactive and compelling way. Participating in exhibitions like this one is an important part of that.”
