Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is expected to open a (Tarsheed) park (pictured) in Al Thumama to create awareness about energy conservation by year-end. Work has completed and final touches continue inside the park, Al Sharq reports.
The park is part of the drive (Tarsheed) launched by Kahramaa for conservation of power and water and includes a versatile hall to screen documentaries on energy rationalisation.
Three renewable energy plants have been installed in the park to generate power for water heater. The park aims to educate next generation to preserve energy and resources of the country.
A solar system with the capacity of 63.3kv and a 41-metre-long solar panel was set up to fetch water heater. Three wind turbines with the capacity of 10kv electricity for each are also installed. They can reduce 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide the emissions. The project is environment friendly and designed to reduce the hindrance for day lighting. The park will be a centre to create awareness, especially among students. The project has bagged prizes for best design in global contests.
