The National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has started receiving entries for the newly launched ‘App Champs Competition’ from Qatar- based University/College students on its focused theme of Conserving Electricity and Water through Tarsheed.
The competition named as “App Champs : An Epic battle. Bring it on!” is open to all students of Qatar- based Universities/ colleges. The competition which has prizes for three best smart conservation and energy efficiency application or game is as part of Tarsheed efforts to promote the culture of conservation of vital resources of electricity and water and encouraging university students innovations and high tech electronic development.
Interested University/College students may apply for the competition via KAHRAMAA website where they can view the terms and conditions for participating in the contest and fill up the completed form. The entry is open from February 10 to April 10, 2016. For more information, participants may call up 44846878.
The purpose of the competition is aimed at promoting environmental awareness and inculcating culture of efficient usage of the natural resources in order to have better life and to achieve the slogan of Tarsheed, “Keep Qatar Pulsing” in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The technical guidelines for the submission are the application’s suitability to be uploaded on designated application stores such as iOS or Google Play, its high quality, user- friendly and its distribution suitability reflecting Tarsheed conservation message in a very interesting way. Apart from the technical guidelines, the submission should be the original work of the participant; it should not have copyright or patent registered for the submitted creation. Entries must be with the source code/file for evaluation and must be as per the detailed guidelines posted on KAHRAMAA’s website. All invited entries should also comply with Qatar’s moral values and its National identity.
Winners will be announced and honored at Tarsheed 4th Annual Celebration to be held on 21st April 2016.
