A new generation of Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) services are set to transform key industries in Qatar in the coming years, according to experts at Ooredoo.

Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) services enable Qatar’s businesses toconnect business assets directly with each other or with a central command centre, thereby automating day-to-day tasks and delivering maximum output with minimum investment in manpower, time and cost.

Ooredoo has taken the lead in supporting IoT technologies in Qatar, deploying the world-class Ooredoo “superfastnet” to enable a whole range of organisations to deploy new services – including government departments, healthcare providers, transportation companies and major enterprises.

Since the launch of Ooredoo’s enhanced Machine to Machine (M2M) services in Qatar, the company’s portfolio of products has expanded to include fleet management, smart grid and metering, asset tracking, security and surveillance, and smart healthcare services.

Waleed Al Sayed, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “With the enhancement of next generation services such as M2M, we can provide ground-breaking solutions that will integrate day-to-day tasks with technology to enhance Qatar’s key industries. Our ongoing investment in businesses solutions demonstrates our commitment to offering the latest advanced technological services in line with the 2030 National Vision.”

Ooredoo’s growing IoT portfolio has been developed to enhance Qatar's business sector and boost the knowledge-based economy. The company has been Qatar‘s leading M2M and IoT provider for more than 10 years.

Ooredoo’s M2M data bundles offer a flexible pricing plan, from 100 MB to 50 GB packages, that can be shared among as many SIM cards as needed.

Customers wishing to evaluate the power and potential of IoT and M2M services can do so at Ooredoo’s OASIS Lab in its Doha Headquarters, which is designed to enable and showcase Ooredoo Smart solutions.
