The International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar) successfully hosted a female entrepreneurship-focused event to celebrate the Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on Wednesday 19^th November at Qatar Chamber offices.

The workshop, a special initiative of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), was organized in partnership with Qatar Chamber as part of its mission to nurture and promote the private sector in Qatar.

Qatar Shell, Golden Sponsor of the GEW in Qatar was the exclusive sponsor of WED.

Ms. Maha Al Mannai, Outreach & University Collaboration Manager at Qatar Shell delivered the keynote speech on behalf of Qatar Shell highlighting the tremendous effort Qatar Shell puts in supporting female entrepreneurship.

Ms. Al Mannai said: “We are proud to be the Exclusive Sponsor of the Women Entrepreneurship Day, which is held for the first time in Qatar, as it is a great opportunity to empower existing and aspiring female entrepreneurs and business women in Qatar and in the region”.

“At Qatar Shell we have made it our mission to invest in Qatari talent and to support local women entrepreneurs, through various social investment initiatives that are in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy to support social and economic development in our country”, added Al Mannai.

Ibtehaj Al Ahmadani, Qatar Chamber Board Member welcoming the guests said: “This event encourages Qatari women towards entrepreneurship and keep pace with the global trend, inspired by the pioneering role played by the State of Qatar in the world”, she added.

The gathering was attended from businesswomen from different sectors who participated into the interactive programme delivered in partnership with ‘How Women Work’. The line-up included a panel session featuring female entrepreneurs in Qatar, a workshops on networking and how to do business in Qatar and a team building “fun session”.
