Huawei Focused on Collaborative Innovation for Enhanced Public Safety at Milipol Qatar

Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, demonstrated how open collaboration results in innovative technology solutions that provide more effective public safety for citizens at Milipol Qatar 2016.

Governments across the Middle East are placing greater emphasis on technology for incident prevention and emergency response. As the State of Qatar gears up for heightened public safety requirements during FIFA 2022, visitors to Milipol saw how Huawei’s strategic government collaboration helped other cities in the Middle East to mitigate public safety challenges while improving security of citizens and visitors. Huawei showcased a range of cutting-edge new ICT security and law enforcement solutions.

The 11th edition of Milipol Qatar under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, was the leading international exhibition for homeland security in the Middle East. The event serves as an important platform for public and private sector organizations to explore the latest public safety technologies and solutions available today.

“Cities across the region are increasingly interconnected and this is changing the demands placed on government organizations to guarantee the safety of citizens. A more integrated communications approach is essential for agencies that are responsible for the lives of citizens,” said Edwin Diender, VP Government & Public Utilities Sector, Huawei Enterprise Middle East. “To meet these tougher demands, we believe that collaboration is key. With our commitment to helping governments across the region, we look forward to being able to exchange and share our expertise to develop customized innovations that provide mission critical communication support to protect citizens and critical infrastructure in the region.”

Huawei has partnered with global security specialists to provide a portfolio of end-to-end safe city solutions under the umbrella of Huawei’s Public Safety technology portfolio.

Huawei draws on its extensive global experience where its solutions are critical to the public safety and protection of over 400 million people in more than 100 cities across 30 countries.
