Doha, Qatar, 17 May 2016: Huawei – a Leading global ICT solutions provider - wowed customers with its GSM-R offerings at an exhibition held last week at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. The China High-Tech Exhibition, which occurred against the backdrop of the 7th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF), was designed to showcase the latest technological innovation in high-speed railway, nuclear energy, and satellite navigation systems.

The company’s exhibit was visited by senior government and business leaders from Qatar and the Gulf region who had the opportunity to meet representatives from Huawei and to explore its offerings in depth. Attending the exhibition on behalf of Huawei senior management were Charles Yang, Huawei President in ME Region and Zong Yan, General Manager for Huawei Qatar.

“We’re proud to have this opportunity to introduce the region’s business leaders to Huawei and to showcase our industry-leading GSM-R technology,” said Zong Yan. “Huawei is well-positioned to help Qatar and other GCC nations develop world-class communications infrastructure on critical public projects such as the development of national rail systems.”

The leader in GSM-R networking, Huawei wireless solutions enable reliable communications – up to 99.9999% – on high-speed railways around the world. The company’s GSM-R-compliant networks are already in operation across more than 13,000 kilometers of railway in major markets such as China, Australia, South Africa, Russia, Turkey, and Germany.

Huawei’s products enable seamless transmission of wireless train control information, emergency communications, group calls, and more. The company’s GSM-R products meet EIRENE certifications, EU regulations and third-party Internet of Things (IoT) tests. Huawei’s customer-centric approach to R&D is evident in its railway communications product lineup: both its eCNS300 single-cabinet and single-sub rack core network and its BTS3900 Base Stations both support the GSM-R-to-LTE evolution, meaning customers can easily upgrade their systems without further capital investments.

With more than 15 years of experience working in Qatar and the region, Huawei is committed to support the digital transformation journey by nurturing local talent, actively supporting local communities and partners development to making lasting positive changes in the economy everywhere it operates to achieve its vision in “Building A Better Connected World”.
