· FACT Dining Awards ceremony rewarding excellence in the F&B industry hosted by FACT Qatar Magazine at Doha Marriot Hotel

· 54 Awards given out across 28 categories covering over 150 venues

· Inaugural awards campaign in Qatar for FACT Magazine

· Over 250 invited guests from the F&B industry enjoyed a sociable evening of entertainment, food and drink

Doha, Qatar, 19th May 2015: FACT Qatar Magazine hosted the prize giving ceremony for its highly successful FACT Dining Awards 2015 campaign on Monday, 18 May 2015 at Doha Marriot Hotel. Over 250 guests enjoyed a night of entertainment, food and drink, as the winners from the 28 categories were announced.

The FACT Dining Awards recognises excellence in the food and beverage industry, with winners awarded based on both public vote and critics’ opinion. Each category was given two awards, which were divided into a popular choice decided through online voting, and a critics’ choice decided by an independent panel of Qatar bloggers and industry experts.

Winners included Hakkasan at the St. Regis Doha for Best Restaurant, Emirgan Sutis by Al Siddiqi Hospitality for Best Newcomer, and Belgian Café at the InterContinental Doha for Best Bar. In the publicly voted popular choice categories, Spice Market at the W Doha Hotel was voted Favourite Restaurant, whilst Eatopia at The Gate Mall was voted Favourite Newcomer.

Speaking after the event, Edward Smith, Publishing Director of FACT M.E. Publishing, said: “We’re thrilled to have hosted the FACT Dining Awards for the first time in Qatar this year. The campaign was a huge success, with thousands of votes received and counted, and the best venues in Doha recognised for the excellent service they offer. It has been a pleasure to invite all the nominated venues to enjoy an evening of entertainment with us, and to recognise the excellent job that they do.”

This month’s event marked the first time that the campaign was staged in Qatar. The FACT Dining Awards have enjoyed five years of successful campaigns in Bahrain so far, with hundreds of venues awarded for excellence over the years. The awards also took place in Abu Dhabi for the first time this year, with a hugely successful campaign culminating in a glamorous ceremony on Yas Island last month.
