As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) - Qatar, Bedaya Center will inaugurate GEW Bazaar on Monday, November 16that Qatar University. Held across 160 countries, the GEW is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.The GEW Bazaar organized by Bedaya Center will be held from 16th to 19th November, and is likely to witness participation from more than 60 local startups who will showcase their products and services. he Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship &SME Development (Bedaya Center) is a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank & Silatech, and seeks to offer career development as well as entrepreneurship services for the youth of Qatar.
In its fourth year GEW will be a platform for a number of discussions on the latest trends and hot topics that are affecting the SME sector on local and international level. The five day event includes participation of partner research, scientific, educational, and commercial institutions. We are proud to gather this number of stakeholders under one umbrella to contribute to the growth of the SME and entrepreneurship sector.
During the GEW in Qatar, a number of activities and events supporting the SME sector development is slated to take place in different venues across Doha. Grand Hayatt Doha Hotel, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) will host a variety of panel discussions and workshops. Apart from Qatar University, a number of educational institutions like Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and College of North Atlantic Qatar, will host some of the proceedings of the GEW.
Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, Director at Qatar University, said, “We are delighted to join hands with The Bedaya Center to support GEW’s initiative. Through Qatar University’s Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE), we have been preparing students to take initiative, develop their business ideas, business plans, and support their innovative efforts and mitigate their challenges to become entrepreneurs. Hence, the empowerment of the next generation of youth business leaders is at the core of our shared mission to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit. In the next few days, it will be truly inspirational to witness the energy and innovation of these SMEs and entrepreneurs at GEW Bazaar.
