Baladna Board of Directors appoints Malcolm Jordan as new CEO

Baladna Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kamel Abdallah has resigned from his post, according to a post from Qatar Stock Exchange.

It was also stated that the Board of Directors appointed Baladna Food Industries Chief Executive Officer Mr. Malcolm Jordan as the Chief Executive Officer for Baladna and delegated him with all powers required for that post.

According to his bio in Baladna’s website, as the CEO of Baladna Food Industries, he led the development and execution of both short- and long-term strategies, supporting the achievement of Qatar’s National Food Security Program.

prior to joining Baladna, Mr. Jordan was part of the leadership team of Almarai, the largest food manufacturer and distributor in the Middle East and the largest integrated dairy company in the world.

Having worked in the region for the past 25 years, Mr. Jordan has a proven track record of delivering superior commercial results, building highly motivated teams and leading business transformation, value chain optimization and major innovation projects.

Mr. Jordan is a graduate in Food Technology from the West of Scotland Agricultural College in Scotland and holds a Certificate in Leadership Development from IMD in Switzerland.

As one of Qatar’s leaders in dairy and beverage production, Baladna has been contributing towards Qatar’s self-sufficiency goals by adopting an innovative line of products. Currently, Baladna has nearly 20,000 dairy cows and supplies the market with all the necessary dairy products comprising of Fresh milk, Ayran, Laban, Yoghurt, Arabic ghee and Cheese. Last year, the company also established itself as the provider of 95% of Qatar’s fresh milk demands. Baladna has also started exporting products to Afghanistan and are looking to expand to regional markets like Kuwait and Oman.
