Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), the largest mixed-use business incubator in the Middle East, today announced that Ms. Aysha Al Mudahka has been appointed as its new CEO.

Aysha is a major figure in Qatar’s rapidly expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem. Since March 2011, she has served as Executive Director of INJAZ Qatar, where she began as a volunteer in 2007. She is an active member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community – a global network of exceptionally talented young people making a positive impact in their communities. Prior to INJAZ Qatar, she worked at the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA), she is one of the board members of Injaz Qatar.

Of her appointment, Aysha said: ‘’I’m delighted to be joining this project of great national importance, created jointly by Qatar Development Bank and the Social Development Center. QBIC offers great opportunities to all Qataris and I look forward to working hand-in hand with them to support the next 100 Million QAR company – a goal firmly in line with the economic development pillar of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.’’

Aysha maintains a strong personal interest in supporting entrepreneurs and the local community. She was a moderator with the Soliya Connect Program and a founding member of the Roudha Centre – a female entrepreneurship and innovation center in Qatar. Aysha, a Qatari national, was born and raised in the State of Qatar. She completed post-graduate programs at Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon University Qatar and is a graduate of Qatar University. She is currently doing her Executive MBA in HEC Paris.

Aysha will represent QBIC and Qatar during Women's Entrepreneurship Day (WED) at the United Nations in New York on November 19, 2014. WED, which celebrates the empowerment of female entrepreneurs, is a featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the world’s largest celebration of innovators, job creators and start-ups, spanning 153 countries.

QBIC provides a range of globally-benchmarked services, designed in partnership with leading entrepreneurial experts, to fulfill entrepreneurs’ demands. These include office space, industrial workshops, and administrative, technical and financial support. In addition QBIC will provide an integrated and supportive environment for entrepreneurs from the idea stage - until they graduate as capable and viable projects. The incubator is part of a wider public and government push to support and encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to build and grow businesses. QBIC was founded by two of Qatar’s leading government institutions supporting local entrepreneurs: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and the Social Development Center (SDC).
