The Airport Hotel at Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced that guests flying with Qatar Airways (QA) now have the option of checking in luggage up to 12 hours prior to departure, said a statement yesterday.

The service effective from January 20 gives QA’s passengers, who have a pre-paid and non-refundable reservation at the hotel, flexibility of arriving at the airport at leisure and enjoying facilities or relaxing in their room while they wait for their flights.

The hotel’s guests can also avail a QA counter in the check-in hall where they can drop off luggage.

The service gives passengers who have an early morning flight the opportunity to check at the night before, have dinner at one of HIA’s dining outlets and spend the night at the hotel.

The new offering from The Airport Hotel will be a popular new service, adding an enhanced level of flexibility to our passengers who want to relax at the hotel and spa before their flight or explore five-star facilities at HIA.”

Guests have an option to choose from superior, deluxe and executive rooms or executive suites, which can be booked for 0-4, 4-8, 8-12 or 12-24 hours, giving them the opportunity to rest in between flights or use the room as a base while they discover the boutiques and restaurants.

Hotel guests (as well as non-staying passengers) can also take advantage of services at The Vitality Spa, which includes a 25-metre swimming pool, full-service gym equipped with cardiovascular machines and two squash courts. Passengers can also choose from a variety of treatments at the spa, which have been designed to relieve the fatigue of travelling. There are three treatment rooms for men and two for women. A hydrotherapy bath is available in male and female spa areas.
