The final day (5 June 2021) of a Qatari delegation's participation in SPIEF 2021 is over. Russia and Qatar signed the final agreements with launching an active phase of engagement right after the forum. The central theme of the agreements of the third day was educational and youth policy.

On June 5, 2021, the National Pavilion of the State of Qatar, a guest country of SPIEF-2021, hosted the signing of five cooperation agreements between Russia and Qatar, designed to expand the dialogue between the countries and build mutual confidence.

The first agreement was signed by Dr. Michael Benedik, Provost, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

“The true meaning of education is to talk about something difficult in a simple manner. The simplest and most sincere words are words of gratitude. Nelson Mandela rightly said that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Qatar and Russia have much in common, and we are pleased that we can continue our cooperation,” commented Alexander Linnikov.

Educational exchanges were also marked by the signing of agreements between the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the College of Law, Qatar University (QU).

Great advances have been made in the agreements with the Qatar National Library (QNL): QNL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the St. Petersburg Museum of Islamic Culture and the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (the Kunstkamera).

“The Kunstkamera was born at the same time as the library 300 years ago. We are very happy that we can retain a connection between the museum, academy, university, and library. The MoU will ensure that we can continue working with the source model of education. We are very pleased that we are together at a new level in the digital world,” said Director of the Kunstkamera Andrey Golovnev.

Along with the signing of the 5 agreements between Qatar and Russia mentioned above, QatarDebate Center organized a session "Climate Change: Fighting or Adapting?" that was held in a debate format on June 5, 2021. The event marked a bright completion of the business program of the SPIEF-2021 Youth Day at Doha Hall, the official pavilion of the delegation of the State of Qatar.

In course of debates, students from Russia and Qatar raised crucial issues on the global climate agenda and proposed mechanisms for tackling the existing challenges. They also discussed the reasons for countries to take into account climate risks, as well as the challenges of combating climate change, when planning their development strategies.
