The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA Qatar) announced on its Facebook fan page the dates and timings that it'll be closed for the week.
Listed below are the dates and timings to take note of:
March 27 (Wednesday)
CLOSED to the public from 3PM onwards and will reopen the next morning.
March 27 (Thursday)
CLOSED to the public from 4PM onwards and will reopen the next morning.
March 29 & 30 (Friday & Saturday)
CLOSED to the public all day.
The MIA Park, on the other hand, together with the Weekend Bazaar will remain OPEN except on March 29 (Friday)
Staff from the MIA didn't disclose the reason behind the closure but some people are saying that one of Qatar's premiere historical spots might be giving way to the grand opening of the National Museum of Qatar (NMOQ) on Wednesday (March 27) and for the latter to fully enjoy the first wave of museum-goers on its first weekend of operation.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the MIA will start charging tourists and visitors an admission fee with the set-to-open NMOQ and the Mathaf, Arab Museum of Modern Art joining the pack starting Thursday (March 28).
Tickets will be FREE of charge for Qataris and residents.
