Who doesn’t love a good laugh to get them through the day? There’s no shortage of artistic talent in Qatar and we couldn’t be prouder of the Qatari cartoonists and visual artists who are using their comics to help us all find common ground.

Humour has long been used as a means to unite people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ideologies – and to say cartoons can be powerful is an understatement. They can be light-hearted reflections of our daily joys and struggles, or they can be a compelling platform to address social and political issues – either way they leave a lasting impact by encouraging us to look at the world around us in new ways.

Opening up our QToon series is local artist and cartoonist Abdulaziz Yousef; although, you might know him better as Temsa7! Arabic for ‘alligator’, Temsa7 has been creating his signature brand of cartoons, infused with Qatari spirit, that reflect his view of the world.

Yousef has also previously worked as a 3D illustrator at the Al Jazeera Children’s Channel and was formerly a regular cartoonist for a local newspaper. Here he brings us a special cartoon for Eid – when you’re a sheep on Eid, you can run but you can never hide…no matter how you dress up!
