The new National Museum of Qatar will be opening its doors to the public on 28 March. It will give a voice to the unique story of Qatar and its people from the earliest times to the present day and onwards towards its future.
Designed to be both immersive and experiential, visitors can expect to encounter a rich environment to explore. Organised in three “chapters” — Beginnings, Life in Qatar, and Building the Nation, each theme is presented across 11 highly individual galleries.
Spread over 1.5km, visitors can expect an exciting mix of all-encompassing environments and compelling storytelling that will engage all the senses.
The entrance includes 114 fountain sculptures in a 900-metre long lagoon and the museum's multi-curved roof, which resembles a giant jigsaw puzzle, is made up of 76,000 panels in 3,600 different shapes and sizes.
