Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, CEO of the Doha Film Institute (DFI), attended the 2019 Academy Awards® ceremony to support two films backed by the institute; ' Capharnaum ' and 'Of Fathers and Sons'. Alremaihi, a strong supporter of Qatari brands, shone on the red carpet with a regal cape in pure blue silk from Aadima by Gills Manjulakshmi, an emerging Qatari design brand that creates bespoke organic modest wear for the modern Middle Eastern woman.

Hayfa Al Abdulla, Co-founder and CEO, Aadima, said: "We are so happy and proud to have such an astounding representation at the Oscars®. Fatma Hassan Alremaihi symbolizes the recent success and achievements of Qatari women. She walked the Oscars® Red Carpet as a role model for young Qatari women, embodying the evolution of culture in the region, and a perfect representative of Qatari fashion and style."

Ghosoon Al Obaidly, Co-founder and COO, said: "The fact that Mrs. Alremaihi was featured in the Oscars® best-dressed lists across leading international industry publications is an acknowledgement of our work and our brand, and an indicator that the Qatari Fashion industry has growing international relevance."

Commenting on the design, Gills Manjulakshmi, Co-Founder and COO at Aadima, said: “I am very proud and blessed to have had this opportunity as a designer to create a custom Oscars® red carpet look for Fatma that was listed amongst the best dressed at the biggest entertainment and fashion event of the year. It was challenging to bring the modest wear look combined with natural fabric, without compromising the essential element of comfort”

The gown was expressive of the Middle Eastern tradition of modesty with a combination of luxury reflected by the deep royal navy colour. Bringing organic wear to the Oscars® red carpet is one of the most accomplished dreams of AADIMA.

Taking a month to complete, the gown is made up of 15 meters of pure silk with an asymmetrical cut cape embellished with customized handmade neck detailing. The gown was complemented with diamonds and ruby jewellery from Pappillon Jewelry. Fatma Hassan Alremaihi said: “In my second year attending the Oscars®, I am so proud to be representing Qatar and the Doha Film Institute wearing Qatari designs that were amazingly artistic and collaborative in the design of my dress and jewelry look. I take pride in supporting Qatari Brands, and I hope that in the coming years we will see a stronger representation from more local talents and brands internationally, that reflect the visions and designs authentic to the region. I am very happy the look made it to the top ranking lists of the event, and I wish Aadima and Papillon Jewellery the best of luck in their future endeavours.”
