Arab Museum of Modern Art hosted College Night, an event designed to introduce university students to the museums world-class collection, its programmes, and facilities.

The event is part of Mathafs educational activities which place enhancing creativity, engagement, and developing an appreciation for modern art at the core of the museums community outreach.

Through a series of tours, film screenings, fun games, and art-making activities inspired by the museums Triumphant Scale exhibition featuring the work of Ghanaian artist El Anatsui students learnt about the artists inventive usage of sculptural form and visual language. Students also learnt about Mathafs internships programs and other ways to collaborate with the museum through its different educational programmes.

Mathaf Director Abdellah Karroum said that "College Night aims to connect university students with our team in order to strengthen Mathafs relationship with local academic institutes and encourage an exchange of dialogue that could lead to long-term partnerships.

"The activities we hosted focused on El Anatsui perhaps Africas most prominent living artist and encouraged students to reflect on his commentary about the making of human communities," he added.

Mathaf, a member of Qatar Foundation, encourages visitors and students to use its space as a place for learning and discovery. The museum often collaborates with local and international universities to develop tailored programmes such as the Mathaf Voices internship, which enables candidates to undergo a work placement at the museum during the academic year.
