A delegation from the World Ethnosport Confederation including Vice President of Confederation Taha Ahyan, and Confederation's board members M. Abdulhalim Aksu and Rabiya Kazak, praised the International Festival of Falcons and Hunting (Marmi Festival) as well as the importance given by the State of Qatar to this ancient heritage sport and the laws of the festival championships.
This came as the delegation visited this evening the venue where the International Marmi Festival is held in Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine, The festival is held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, and organized by the Qatari Al Qannas Society. The festival will continue until February 1.
Lawyer Diya Al Shwiki, goodwill ambassador for UN human rights organization's board of commissioners, also visited the festival venue.
Ali bin Khatem Al Mihshadi, the president of the organizing committee of the International Marmi Festival and Chairman of Al Qannas Society, and Mohammed bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, Vice-President of the festival organizing committee and Vice-Chairman of Al Qannas Society, briefed the delegation on the most important championships that take place in the festival and its laws, and on the high turnout from Qatari falconers as well as those participating from the Gulf region.
