Katara handicraft competition provides opportunities to discover the aesthetics of Qatari women works

In cooperation with the of the Qatari Women's Pen Forum, the Cultural Village Katara organized the Katara Handicraft Competition inspiring from the women crafts legacy.

This competition aims to provide great opportunities to exchange ideas, experiences, and discover the aesthetics of Qatari women works and documenting the national identity.

One of the conditions of the competition is that the contestant must be at least 18 years old and she has to select to work on one of the following vocabulary related to the women artisan heritage: Al-Marash, Sadu or Makhala and use it in contemporary creative works that are products, handicrafts or souvenirs, which contributes to inspiring their values and beauties.

Persons wishing to participate in this competition must submit a sample of products, handicrafts or souvenirs to the Qatari Women's Pen Forum in building 18 (first floor). The deadline to submit entries is Sept. 1, and valuable prizes for the first three places winners. The samples are to be created and executed by the participant, especially for this competition.

The winner of the first place will get QR25,000, the second-place winner will receive an award of QR20,000, and the third-place winner will receive QR15,000.
