Fire Station is pleased to announce its annual open call for the Artist in Residence programme. Under the visionary guidance of Qatar Museums’ (QM) Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, applications for the nine-month residency programme are open to all artists based in Qatar until Wednesday 1 April. The Artist in Residence programme is open to all artistic practices including, but not limited to, visual arts, photography, film, sound art, design and literature.

The programme provides artists with the opportunity to develop their practice through mentorship and critiques from established artists, art professionals and curators, as well as networking opportunities, participation in workshops and lectures. Throughout the nine months, from September to June, artists will be given studios and access to the Fire Station’s facilities including the fabrication lab, woodshop and exhibition spaces. Accepted residents will be given the chance to showcase their artwork and projects at the end of their residency in an exhibition in the Garage Gallery at the Fire Station.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 1 April 2020.
