The Fire Station in Doha hosted its Open Studio Night, whereby participants of the Artist in Residence programme welcomed members of the community. The ever-popular event was an opportunity for art enthusiast in Qatar to meet the artists, visit their studios and discover their practice ahead of the annual Artist in Residence exhibition set to take place next year.

Artists displayed their works, which included a variety of media, such as fine art, sculpture, and photography, among others.

Launched under the patronage of Qatar Museums’ Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Artists in Residence program at the Fire Station provides a creative outlet for artists to nurture their talents by providing them with access to fully-equipped studios, curatorial guidance, mentorship and a rich portfolio of lectures, workshops and talks. The programme is part of Qatar Museums’ commitment to nurturing artistic talent in the country and helping Qatar originate art and culture from within, by providing platforms where creativity can thrive.
