Ever wondered how various startup companies in Qatar are getting the exposure that they deserve through a weekly column called 'Startup of the Week?'

Well, if you ever thought of the same thing, we're here to encourage you to submit your interest at any time of day as the requirements are really simple and the whole process won't definitely eat up much of your time!

So should we start rolling?

But first, we want to address this common question: "What is a startup?"

According to Wikipedia, a startup or a startup company is an entrepreneurial venture which is typically a newly-emerged business that aims to meet a marketplace need by developing a viable business model around a product, service, process or a platform. A startup is usually a company designed to effectively develop and validate a scalable business model.

Or to make it short, a startup is a young company that is just beginning to develop.

Startup companies offer a product or service that is not currently being offered elsewhere in the market, or that the founders believe is being offered in an inferior manner.

In Qatar, we have the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) and Digital Incubation Center (DIC) to guide future entrepreneurs to make their small companies come to life through a series of seminars, proper training, and later on, financing. Having some of the most creative, unique, and impactful startups in the region, Qatar is quickly emerging as the top spot in the GCC for business-minded individuals to establish their brand—may it be in the fashion industry, food & beverage, health, education, sports, entertainment, and more!

Good thing community websites like ILQ are supportive enough to make the ever-flourishing startup community in Qatar achieve a wider audience. The initiative to do so was pushed by Mr. Q—the CEO and founder of the ILQ Network—who himself is an entrepreneur and lifetime advocate of local brands.

Every week, ILQ features a local startup of any sort and kind as long as it's incubated or established right here in Qatar and the founder is a resident of the country.

If you're interested, drop us an email at [email protected] and once the deal is done, we'll send a short questionnaire which you will be sending us back after a few days—with your brand images and logo—and you're ready to go! You can also contact us through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for other inquiries.

Who knows, your business idea might be the next big company in Qatar!
