His Excellency (H.E.) Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani is Qatar's new Chief of the Amiri Diwan. He was appointed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for this new position on 27 October 2020 when he issued the Amiri order no. 5 of 2020. Before this appointment, H.E. Sheikh Saoud, who is a member of the ruling Al-Thani family, served the Amiri Diwan in the position of the Assistant to the Chief of the Amiri Diwan from 2019 to 2020, and has also been the Ambassador of Qatar to Germany and the Non-resident Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2017-2019).
