Qatar Airways Tweeted that its plane would fly in the skies of Doha on 20 November 2021 at 10 am, and pointed out that it would be "a very special flyover to Doha." The national carrier stated that this special flyover comes on the occasion of one year left until the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which is the largest and most exciting tournament!

So far, 13 teams have been included in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, in which 32 teams will compete, with 19 vacant seats remaining. In addition to Qatar, the "host country", the Brazilian and Argentine teams qualified for South America, in addition to 10 European teams that topped their groups at the end of the European qualifiers for the World Cup, namely: Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Croatia England and Germany.
