A few years ago, Lusail City was non-existent. Today, it's become one of Qatar's popular destinations for tourists and residents alike.

So if you haven't been to Lusail City, here are suggestions on what to do in the futuristic city with your near and dear. Happy exploring!

1. Take a walk at Lusail Marina Promenade

The palm tree-lined Marina Promenade is Lusail's answer to Doha's Corniche. Feel free to go jogging/running, go biking, relax in one of the seats scattered along the route, enjoy the interactive fountains that light up at night, grab a coffee in one of the nearby food stalls, or just simply enjoy the scenery.

Remember a few rules while you're at the Lusail Marina Promenade.

  • No open fire
  • No littering
  • Do not tamper with any electrical outlet
  • Do not pick plants
  • No shisha
  • No camping
  • No motorbikes and bicycles in the walkway area. Use cycle on track only
  • No commercial vending
  • No pets allowed. Do not feed the animals and the fish
  • Do not climb on rocks
  • No noise
  • No fishing, diving, skiing and swimming
  • Wear decent dress
  • No commercial video allowed
  • No roller blades and skateboarding

Food trucks, coffee shops and unique food concepts are just some of the things you can expect from Lusail Marina Food Arena. It's up to you if you want to dine in or drive through, but one thing's for sure, you won't be leaving hungry.

3. Check out Lusail City's interesting buildings

Lusail City has its share of unique-looking buildings. The Marina Twin Towers look like colourful Lego blocks, while the Waterfront Hotel looks like it has cubes coming out of the building. Other interesting buildings include the Lusail Stadium, Katara Towers, and Place Vendôme.

4. Visit Crescent Park with the family

Crescent Park in Lusail is a vast green space that provides visitors with walking spaces, jogging tracks, a maze, plenty of seating, a children's play area and other amenities to enjoy.

5. Take a shot of Lusail's suspension bridges

Designed by DISSING+WEITLING and built by Samsung C&T, this circular suspension bridge is surely one of Lusail's icons. While it already looks amazing during the day, it's even more wonderful at night when it lights up. A great spot for some insta-worthy photos!

While you're at it, some other photo spots in Lusail are the public art installation - Eqal By Shouq Al Mana, the I Love Lusail Marquee, and the Lusail Fountain.

6. Shop at Place Vendôme

One of the newest additions to the country’s list of malls is Place Vendôme Qatar! This mall has exquisite interiors, extravagant architecture and some great retail options for you to explore.

7. Enjoy go-karting at Lusail Circuit Sports Club

Do you like racing? The Lusail circuit offers a full-fledged go-karting experience for kids and adults to put their skills to the test. How cool is this?!

8. Shoot at Al Ramii Sport Club (Lusail shooting range)

This shooting and archery range is where you can have a great time with your friends and family. Book a session and experience outdoor and indoor shooting with all protective measures.

  • Prices: QR 50 (Rifle - 25 shots) | QR 100 (Pistol & Shotgun - 25 shots)

9. Check out Lusail Stadium

Check out this stadium from the outside and marvel at the amazing architecture. The stadium’s shape and facade represent the decorative motifs on bowls and other vessels of the Arab and Islamic worlds. Lusail Stadium will host ten matches during the World Cup, including the final – which is more than any other Qatar 2022 venue.

The 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium will also host the Lusail Super Cup between Saudi Arabia and Egypt on Friday, 9 September 2022.

10. Lusail Commercial Boulevard and other upcoming projects

This upcoming area at Lusail City is all the hype right now and is full of contemporary building structures with live 3D screens, commercial complexes, cafés etc. Please note that this area is still under construction and has not fully opened to the public yet. Check out a glimpse of it here!

Some other upcoming projects to look forward to here are the Katara Towers, Lusail Winter Wonderland and Qetaifan Islands.

You can easily get to Lusail using the Doha Metro, your transportation, or by taking the taxi/ride-hailing services. You can also explore Lusail via the Lusail Tram.
