Al Legtaifiya park is one of the community parks in Doha. The first things that attract you as you walk into this beautiful park is the vastness of it and clean layout. The park is located in the residential district of Legtaifiya, Doha.
According to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the park is spread over 27,500 s.qm. Surrounded by a number of schools, this park is a great place for families and kids. We visited the park to bring you all the details, dos and don’ts so that you have a wonderful time when you’re there! Here are some of the things you must check out at the park!
Note: You will be asked to show the ‘Green’ status on your EHTERAZ application before entering. As per COVID-19 restrictions set by the government, please make sure to abide by all precautionary measures such as wearing a mask, physical distancing and frequent hand washing.
This park is home to the region’s first inclusive playground, with equipment like an inclusive trampoline, an accessible slide and a swing. The park is also wheelchair friendly. These are some of the best features of the park, don’t you agree? Please note that these areas are closed at the moment due to the current situation.
The play area is super fun for kids as they have various play equipment to choose from. The slides, swing, climbing areas, trampoline, swirly slides, ramps and see-saw and other fun things will give them non-stop entertainment. The walking track leads you to a central plaza where the island is filled with many beautiful and colourful flowers. Almost resembling a secret garden, the central plaza has ample seating for you to sit and enjoy the views.
Right opposite the entrance is an in-ground fountain that comes alive during the evening hours. This attraction is wonderful as you can enjoy the water dancing around while being lit up by the eye-catchy lighting.
Neatly laid walking and rubber jogging tracks cover the circumference of this community park. This is perfect to include some extra steps into your daily routine to keep yourself fit and healthy.
The park is covered by green patches of neatly cut and maintained lawns, perfect for sitting down and enjoying the cool evening breeze. Kids can also run around, having the time of their lives here!
Teens and adults can also have some fun here. There is a full-size basketball court and medium-size football pitch at the park. However, these can only be used with prior reservation and agreement from Baladiya. For more details, call +974 4432 6329.
Apart from these, the park has plenty of seating areas - shaded and open benches, gym equipment (currently closed for public use), drinking water stations, and designated male & female toilet areas.
There are signs at the park prohibiting barbecue, large bicycles, smoking, littering, scooters, loudspeakers, picking flowers, playing sports and pets at Al Legtaifiya Park.
