Souq Waqif is one of Qatar's most iconic and well-loved places, which locals, residents, and tourists love to visit. It is known for its traditional architecture and wide array of restaurants and cafes and is a place where visitors can witness and experience Qatari culture.

Looking to take something back for your family and friends? You can choose among leather items, intricate handicrafts, and beautifully made lampshades.

Here you can also find unique items like salt and pepper shakers shaped like a traditional Qatari couple, keychains, figures, or old canvas paintings of Qatar. Coffee pots and embroidered pashminas are also some of the tourist favourites.

If you're looking for dessert or a sweet snack as you stroll through Souq Waqif, stop by the many snack vendors and try freshly made crispy crepes or kunafes! They're quite affordable, ranging from QR 5-12.

Go through the winding alleys full of stalls and shops selling textiles, kitchenwares, bags, and other accessories. There are many unique finds at Souq Waqif where shoppers can haggle and bargain for the best prices.

Remember to keep cash handy, as most shopkeepers do not accept cards. If you buy more than what you can handle, you can find wheelbarrow-pushing men to come to your rescue. They will happily bring your purchases to your car for a few Qatari Riyals.
