Did you know that there is a huge sundial at Msheireb Downtown Doha?! There is a high possibility that you have passed by it and missed it! It is that hidden and you can find it at Sikkat Al Rawda, next to the mosque. Here you can view the shadow the sundial creates throughout the day and also find plaques right next to it from where you can observe the equinoxes on March 21 and September 21. How cool is this?
Turquoise City stands tall right next to Mandarin Oriental and on street number 835 at Barahat Msheireb. This brand new art installation by Mark Handforth consists of truncated turquoise tubes which are irregularly chopped and stacked to form a spiral structure. This is the artist’s vision of expressing the unfolded beginnings of life. When are you viewing this new art piece?
This artwork is located near AlWadi Hotel Doha and opposite % Arabica! Called “Eyes know” by the artist Dimitrije Bugarski (also known as dee dee), the art piece draws the viewer towards it at first glance! It is a spray-work of an excerpt from Shk Saoud's portrait done on concrete blocks. Have you spotted this one before?
